Newton Police Searching For Missing Teenager
The girl has not been seen in more than a month.

NEWTON, MA — The police department is asking for the public's help in locating a missing 14-year-old girl who left the custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families last month.
Daiyanaliz Diaz was last seen on Thursday, July 3, after leaving Newton-Wellesley Hospital without authorization while in DCF custody, according to the Newton Police Department. Diaz is described as being five feet and three inches tall with a petite build, pulled-back black hair, and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, gray shorts, and black sneakers. Police said she does not have a phone or wallet. Diaz is originally from Chelsea and is known to frequently visit the downtown area. She is listed by the National Center for Missing andnd Exploited Children as missing from Newton Lower Falls.
Community members with information about Diaz's whereabouts are asked to contact the department at 617-796-2123, call 911, or submit a tip through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The agency has issued a nationwide missing child alert for Diaz under case number 2095856.
