- Police responded back to 249 Centre St., Newton Automotive, for two stolen license plates taken off of customers’ vehicles.

Incidents, July 7
- Police responded to calls to the Crowne Plaza Hotel where a robbery had just occurred, with the suspect fleeing out of the Washington Street exit toward Bertucci’s. An employee said that around 1:14 p.m., he was in the back room, got up from his desk to go to another room, and saw a white male, in mid 40s, wearing a white polo shirt with the right vertical half being maroon, and khaki pants and white sneakers in the room just behind the front desk. The man was rummaging through a purse that was on the desk, and the employee saw him remove cash. He asked the man what he was doing, responding by handing the money to him. The employee detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the front desk area and jumped over the counter and fled the hotel via the restaurant. In the morning, around 9 a.m., the suspect entered the sales area office, and the staff asked him if he needed help, and he mumbled something and left.
