Newton Police: Thief Steals 11 Cans of Red Bull, Kindle, From a Car (But Not the GPS or Sunglasses)
The following are excerpts from the Newton police. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Sept. 9
- Police responded to Peabody Street for a past breaking and entering to a motor vehicle. The reporting party said that he parked his pickup truck in front of his apartment around 10 p.m. the night before and came out at 5:30 a.m. and noticed it was broken into. He said that 11 cans of Red Bull and about $10 in change as well as a Paperwhite Kindle were missing. The vehicle was unlocked. Sunglasses, GPS and other change was left behind.
- At 4:25 p.m., police went to Cold Spring Park on Beacon Street to assist the Wellesley and Sutton police on a warrant service on Matthew Perkins, Wilson Circle, Newton. Perkins had two warrants out of Wellesley and one out of Sutton. Multiple Newton officers went to Wilson Circle attempting to serve the warrants. Perkins was located outside and was taken into custody without incident. Perkins is charged with receiving stolen property over $250 (two counts), breaking into a building in the daytime for a felony, larceny from a building. Matthew Perkins, 44, 14 Wilson Circle, Newton.
- A resident came into police headquarters to report his bicycle stolen from outside McDonaldâs on California Street at approximately 10 p.m. the night before. He said his grey Surly was leaning up against the building for a few minutes while he ran inside, and when he returned the bike was gone.
