NEWTON POLICE: Two Theft Reports of Multiple Tools
Plus, a suspect flees an alleged break.The following was supplied by the Newton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Incidents, May 26
- Police were dispatched to Prospect Street for a report of a breaking and entering in progress. While en route to Prospect Street, police were informed that a suspect fled on foot down Curve Street heading toward Auburn Street. He was wearing jeans and a dark blue shirt, 5’5”, shaved head. He was located by officers. Suspect fled because he thought he had warrants. Nicholas Higgins, 19, was arrested for breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony.
- A report of past breaking and entering into a motor vehicle came into headquarters. The person said that his truck, a 2012 Nissan, was parked in the Extra Space Storage on Bridge Street. His truck was parked, unlocked, in the lot on May 22 through May 26. Missing were seven power tools: nailers, grinder, sander, Sawzall.
- Police responded to Countryside Road for a past breaking and entering to a construction site. The caller said that sometime over the past weekend, his tools were taken from inside the house, which is currently under construction. He left his tools on May 22 and noticed them missing. What was taken: four shop saws, tablesawx, 6 combo drills, miscellaneous level 3 jigsaws, two routers, two Sawzalls, five small drills, two skill saws, laser, belt tool.
