Newton Police: Woman Steals 52 Bottles of O.P.I. Fingernail Polish

Incidents, June 1
- At 4:51 p.m., police responded to 241 Needham St. (CVS) for a report of a past larceny. Police spoke to loss prevention, who said that on May 30 around 12:40 p.m., a woman stole 52 bottles of OPI fingernail polish. He showed police the security camera footage of a black female, approximately 5’6” tall, 150 pounds, wearing blue jeans, a black and white printed blouse and a black undershirt, who approached the OPI fingernail polish display in the cosmetics aisle near the entrance. The footage shows the suspect grabbing bottles of polish and placing them in a large shoulder bag. After taking the bottles, the suspect walks to the rear of the store, making an exit.
- Police spotted a Toyota Scion traveling northbound on North Street in Newtonville, and their attention was drawn to the car because its rear driver’s side tail light was out. Police pulled the car over and checked the driver’s information in the database. Rudi Lopez-Garcia, 32, 30 Middlesex Road, Waltham, was arrested and charged with driving a vehicle without a license and defective lights.
