Newton Resident: Someone Shot an Arrow at My Home
The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Fri., July 25
An Elm Street resident said someone shot an arrow into the back of his home. The arrow pierced a strip of vinyl siding and left a dime-sized hole. The resident said he believed the arrow came from a home behind him in the Oak Street area. He said last year, someone shot a BB gun at his home.

A man reported someone ripped the license plates off his vehicle on Ashmont Street.

A woman said someone was got back to her Commonwealth Avenue home and heard someone in the upstairs hallway. The person fled. Police said they were in the process of charging a suspect.
An employee of Sign of the Dove in the Chestnut Hill Mall said someone stole her license and bank card from near the register while she was helping a customer. The woman told police she believed the woman was deliberately trying to distract her while an accomplice stole the items.
