Newton South High School was ranked among the top 20 schools in Massachusetts in a new survey.

Ninety-seven percent of Newton South students scored proficient in math and reading, according to Niche, which compiles school rankings.

Newton South was ranked No. 13 in the state. It has an enrollment of about 1,779 students.
