Newton Students Enroll At College Of The Holy Cross

NEWTON, MA — The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester is congratulating 822 incoming freshman who will be starting classes in September, including 11 students from Newton.

Applicants to Holy Cross distinguished themselves through community service, leadership roles, and diverse participation in areas like the arts, music and athletics, said the school in a news release. The new "Crusaders" will move in on Saturday, August 28 and begin classes on Monday, September 6.

The following students from Newton have joined the Holy Cross Class of 2025:

• Elizabeth Donovan of Waban
• Olivia Dubin of Newton Highlands
• Sarah Iannone of Newton
• Henry Linton of Newton
• Katrina Mastoras of Chestnut Hill
• Caroline Merrigan of Auburndale
• Jenna Peterson of West Newton
• Catalina Powderly of Newton
• Nicholas Wang of Waban

The Class of 2025 includes students from 33 states and 15 countries and is made up of 54% women and 46% men, with 23% of students coming from ethnically diverse backgrounds and 16% as first-generation college students.
