Newton Teacher Struck At Education Center Strike Negotiations Site

Newton police said the teacher was hit by a colleague pulling out of the Crafts Street lot and brought to the hospital for treatment.

NEWTON, MA — A pedestrian struck at the site of the ongoing Newton teachers' strike negotiations was brought to the hospital for treatment late Thursday morning.

Newton police said officers responded to the Newton Education Center on Walnut Street at about 11:15 a.m. and determined that a driver pulling out of the Education Center parking lot onto Crafts Street had made contact with the pedestrian.

Police said the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at the time he was hit.
