Newton Weather: Rainy Bookends for a Sunny Saturday

Possible showers early in the day kick off a weekend that makes way for a mostly sunny Saturday, but another chance of showers on Sunday.

Heavy rainfall led Friday’s forecast, leading to one to two inches in some areas throughout Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, according to the National Weather Service.

Here’s a snapshot for Newton, via National Weather Service:

• Friday: Partly sunny, high of 58. Northwest wind around 9 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
• Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 32.
• Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 47.
• Saturday Night: Chance of showers after 4 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35.
• Sunday: A chance of showers, mainly before 4 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 51.
