Newton-Wellesley Hospital Preps For Post-Boston Marathon Injury Clinics
Free clinics will be held for athletes who sustained injuries during the marathon.

NEWTON, MA – Newton-Wellesley Hospital will offer two free post-Boston Marathon clinics for athletes who sustained injuries during the race. The free clinic will be held on Tuesday, April 18 and Tuesday, April 25 from 5-7:30 p.m. in the Surgical Center, East Entrance of Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
An orthopedist, physiatrist, podiatrist, physical therapist, athletic trainer or nurse will all be available to athletes based on necessary treatment. X-rays and lab tests may be ordered free of charge.
"We are happy to offer these free services to the athletes of the 121st Boston Marathon," Danielle
Cooper, a physical therapist at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, said in a statement.

Cooper suggests coming to the clinic if there's any lingering orthopedic pain, blisters or skin irritation of feet. Athletes who feel ill or are suffering from dizziness, excessive fatigue, rapid heart rate or abdominal pains should seek attention at an urgent care center.
