Newton's Atrium Center Gets New Name, Eyes 2017 Opening
The building has been renamed the Life Time Center to reflect its anchor tenant.

NEWTON, MA – The recently renovated Atrium Center will reopen next year as the Life Time Center in honor of its anchor tenant.
Property owner Bulfinch Companies, Inc. leased 115,000 square feet of space in the building to the fitness and health company earlier this month. Life Time Athletic Chestnut Hill will offer a full health, fitness and wellness experience, and a staff of trained medical professionals will be on hand, according to a press release.
The center is expected to open in mid-2017.

"Bulfinch is extremely proud to have Life Time as its anchor tenant at the new Life Time Center," commented Eric Schlager, CEO of Bulfinch Properties, said in a press release. "Life Time brings a unique, 360-degree approach to health, wellness, rejuvenation and entertainment that is completely aligned with our vision for a one-of-a-kind wellness center in Greater Boston."
Bulfinch purchased the Atrium Mall for $46 million in 2012 with plans to adapt it into medical offices.

Construction on the 286,000-square foot property is ongoing, as medical leases are finalized and the third and fourth floors are marketed as medical office space.
This is Life Time's third greater Boston location, behind Life Time Athletic Westwood, which opened in 2015, and Life Time Athletic Boston Metro West, which opened this month.
"Bulfinch will deliver a state-of-the-art LEED certified facility that will be the preeminent medical and wellness asset in greater Boston," Bulfinch President Robert Schlager said in the release. "Chestnut Hill is home to many leading medical institutions and retailers and we look forward to creating the finest facility in this corridor."
The Life Time Center is located off of Route 9 East, close to the Longwood Medical Area and Chestnut Hill's retail hub. A shuttle to the Chestnut Hill Green Line stop will be offered, as well as more than 1,000 parking spaces in a free parking garage.
Members of the Chestnut Hill Life Time will also have access to the Westwood and Boson Metro West locations.
