Newton's Crystal Lake Officially Closes For Season

NEWTON, MA — Crystal Lake in Newton Centre is officially closed for the season, with the final day of swimming taking place on Saturday, August 21.

The lake, located at 30 Rogers Street, had a successful summer season, with no shutdowns due to elevated E. coli or fecal coliform levels since its opening on June 21.

Each summer, Newton residents are able to purchase seasonal memberships to access Crystal Lake and Gath Pool. Due to the pandemic, swimming lessons were only offered at Gath Pool this year.

Crystal Lake is also a popular summer fishing spot and was last stocked with rainbow trout on April 12 by the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife.
