Dr. Kamal Khabbaz, Newton resident and Chief of Cardiac Surgery at The CardioVascular Institute at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), and former WCVB TV5 anchor, Susan Wornick, recently hosted a heart- healthy Red Wine and Dark Chocolate tasting at the Longwood Grille & Bar in Boston. The dinner event raised funds to support the American Heart Association’s cardiovascular research. Wornick and Khabbaz are co-chairs of the 2014 BIDMC Walking Campaign, which includes National Walking Day festivities on April 2, the BIDMC Walking Club, and the Boston Heart Walk on the Charles River Esplanade on September 6. Wornick recently retired from WCVB TV5, but she continues her community service and charity work.
