Newton's Got Art in The Street - Literally
At Chestnut Hill's The Street shopping strip there are a number of hidden art installations.

CHESTNUT HILL, MA — The strip of shops along Route 9 known as The Street is hosting yet another event. Tonight they're celebrating two art installations with some music, food and a little aw with the aim of putting a spotlight on art in public places, as part of the Newton Festival of the Arts.
Look for a white piano painted with inspiration by the folks at The Paint Bar to be played by the official organist at the Boston Bruins, Ron Poster. There will also be a "Hidden Poetry" installation, presented by Poetry in Place, an organization dedicated to bringing poetry to public spaces, featuring nine different poetry selections stenciled into The Street’s sidewalks in invisible paint. When the stenciled sidewalk area is exposed to water, the poems become visible.
The art will be on display at the property through the end of the month, but the opening event of the Artful Unveiling is tonight. Sign up for the Newton newsletter to get more news like this.
