Nominate an Eco-Friendly Business for the Newton-Needham Green Business Awards

The deadline for submissions is this Friday. To qualify, businesses must be making strides toward sustainability or sell green products.

NEWTON, MA – Nominations are now open for the Newton-Needham Chamber's annual Green Business Awards. To qualify, a business must be based in Newton, Needham or a neighboring community and be making strides to reduce energy and achieve sustainability or sell green products or services.

Nominations are due Friday, March 3 and can be submitted at NNchamber.com. Businesses and non-profits may nominate themselves. The awards will be presented at the chamber's Spring Business Breakfast on Thursday, May 4 at the Needham Sheraton.

TripAdvisor cleaned up last year, in recognition of the construction of its eco-friendly headquarters in the N-Squared Innovation District. Powerhouse Dynamics, a Newton-based company that helps businesses reduce energy costs, also received top honors.

Johnny's Luncheonette, Needham Bank, Mark's Northeastern Furniture Foundation, the Eliot Church of Newton and the First Unitarian Society in Newton were also awarded in 2016.

"We hope the recognition these outstanding businesses and each year inspires others to also embrace best practices and a commitment to reduce our carbon footprint," Greg Reibman, president of the Newton-Needham Chamber, said in a statement.
