Obituary: Walter D. Drew, 92, Retired Newton Police Captain
Walter was very active in the Newton and Waltham communities and co-owned Drew's Ashland Kennel with his wife.

NEWTON, MA – Drew, Walter D. of Waltham, formerly of Ashland and Newton, passed on March 8 at age 92. Retired Newton Police Captain and WWII Veteran, USMC. Coached numerous basketball and baseball teams, as well as The Waltham Drifters Softball Team.
Avid sports fan, gentleman farmer and co-owner of Drew’s Ashland Kennel where he and his wife raised pure bred English Setters and Golden Retrievers.
Beloved husband of the late Marjorie L. (Taytasac) Drew, he is survived by his children, retired Waltham Police Chief, Edward J. Drew and his wife Deborah of Waltham, Marjorie A. Drew and her partner, Susan of Newton, Rosemarie Boudreau and her husband retired Newton Police Capt. Edward.

Grandfather of Danelle Hart and her husband Patrick, Heather Metallides and her husband Greg, Jennifer Vadnais and her husband Doug, Michael Boudreau, Jeffrey Boudreau and his wife Kim, Christopher Boudreau and his fiancée Alexandra DiPace. Great-grandfather of Shaelyn and Collin Hart, Drew, Cole and Aiden Metallides, Brylie, David and Blake Vadnais, Jason, Kyle and Deborah Boudreau.
Son of the Late Edward and Sarah (Davis) Drew, brother of the late Anna (Falisa) Drew CSJ, Grace Pendergast and her husband Charles, and Edward and Vincent Drew. Visiting hours at Magni Funeral Home, 365 Watertown St., Rte. 16, Newton, Sunday from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. and Monday at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at 10:30, Our Lady Help of Christian Church, 573 Washington St., Newton. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
