
NEWTON, MA – The following are excerpts from the Newton Police Department crime log:
Friday, Dec. 2
• Police responded to Brandeis Road for a report of packages being stolen from a nearby residence. The caller told police he saw a white man, about 50 years old, pull in front of his house in what he believed to be a grey Honda or Acura. The man then allegedly got out, took two packages from his neighbor and drove away up Olde Field Road toward Rt. 9. It is unknown what was in the packages.

• A breaking and entering to a motor vehicle was reported on Adams Avenue. The caller said sometime the previous night or early in the morning someone entered her unlocked vehicle, which was parked in her driveway, and rummaged through it. A small amount of loose change was missing. She woke up to her dog barking sometime between 3 and 3:30 a.m. and suspects this is when the breaking and entering occurred.

• A past breaking and entering to a motor vehicle was reported on Farmington Road. Someone entered the unlocked vehicle and took loose change.
• A past breaking and entering to a motor vehicle was reported on Cherry Street. Someone entered the unlocked car and took some change.
• Police responded to Adams Avenue for a reported breaking and entering to a motor vehicle. The caller said someone had gone through his glove box and center console, stealing an undisclosed amount of money. The caller was advised to lock his vehicle in the future.
Monday, Dec. 5
• A breaking and entering to a motor vehicle was reported on Adams Avenue. The caller said sometime during the night someone entered the unlocked car when it was parked in the driveway.
