The Newton South boys basketball team lost to Westford Academy 67-59.
With Newton-Westford boys basketball games, Westford Academy Coach Ed Scolla knows it's always going to come down to a single digit.
"This was a typical Wesford-Newton game, every time we get down to Newton we have to play hard," Scolla said. "They're just a good team, well coached...its a struggle every time we get down there."
Nevertheless, the Grey Ghosts managed to walk away with a win last night over the Lions, 67-59.

"We played real well, they're one of the best teams in the state," said Coach Joe Killilea. "The score is not indicative of how the kids played...I'm really proud of the way they played tonight."
Killilea noted that Westford focused on the Lions' lead scorer, DJ Reid. While Reid averages 21 points per game, Killilea said the Grey Ghosts held him to just seven last night.
