Police Revive Newton Man with Narcan, Charge Him with Third Drugged Driving Offense

Police in Needham say an officer found the man in a car on the side of the road.

NEWTON, MA — Narcan was needed to revive a Newton man in his car, police said.

On July 19 at about 5 p.m., an officer on patrol near East Militia Heights Road noticed a male parked on the side of the road who appeared to be in need of medical help, according to the Needham Police Log. Police say the man showed signs of an opioid overdose. Narcan was administered to the individual, who survived the incident.

The man, a 33-year-old from Newton, was taken to Beth Israel Needham. His name has not been released.

Police are planning to charge him with his third drugged driving offense, possession of heroin, and operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.
