Missing Boston College Student Found
Newton Police confirmed in a tweet Monday evening that Dana Morrissey is safe. She was seen taken out on a stretcher.

NEWTON, MA - A Boston College student reported missing after failing to show up to graduation on Monday has been found safe.
Newton Police tweeted Monday evening that 23-year-old Dana Morrissey had been found "safe"; she was found near Hammond Pond. She was seen being carried out on a stretcher on her way to the hospital.
Morrissey, originally from Winchester, was reported missing by her family Monday afternoon; she was expected to attend the graduation ceremony earlier in the day.

Massachusetts State Police, the Newton Police and Fire Departments, Boston College Police and NEMLEC conducted a search of the Hammond Pond area in Chestnut Hill. According to police, she was dropped off by an Uber driver at the Bloomingdale's near the pond on Route 9 earlier on Monday.
At a press conference Monday evening, Newton Police spokesman Lt. Bruce Apotheker told reporters that Boston College police interviewed the Uber driver, who said he picked her up at a Dunkin' Donuts shortly after 7:30 a.m. Monday morning and dropped her off approximately 10 minutes later.

Morrissey's parents became concerned when they tried to contact her and her phone was off.
At the press conference, they pleaded with their daughter to contact them or one of her siblings; her mom also said that tomorrow is Morrissey's birthday.
