Police Seek Bank Robber in Newton
Brookline Bank in Newton Highlands was robbed on Tuesday afternoon. Police are searching for suspects.

NEWTON, MA -- Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly robbed Brookline Bank in Newton Highlands on Tuesday afternoon.
At 1:35 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to Brookline Bank at 1150 Walnut St., which had reportedly just been robbed.
According to witnesses, the suspect entered the bank and passed a note demanding money. Although the suspect indicated he had a weapon, none was shown, said police.

The robber took an undetermined amount of cash, with the suspect fleeing the bank in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as being either a light skinned black male or of middle eastern descent, mustached, 6’ 1” tall, slim build, wearing sunglasses, winter jacket, winter blue hat, blue jeans and light colored gloves, said police.

No one was injured.
The incident is currently being investigated by the Newton Police Department Detective Bureau and the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force.
