This week's police logs include rape, threats at the school administration building, and break ins. The following is from Newton Police. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. And all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Follow the Newton Patch on Facebook.

Monday, May 8

School Threats: Someone called police to report threats had been made to the School Administration building on Walnut Street. (Police later said this was dismissed as a miscommunication)

Daytime assault: Someone called to report an assault at the Swartz True Value Hardware on Watertown Street around 9 a.m.

Larceny: Police got a report of a larceny on Woodcliff Road.

Tuesday, May 9

Assault: Someone reported an assault on the BC campus.

Shots fired? Police responded to a report of possible gunshots heard near the area of Cold Springs Playground and Duncklee Street at 12:55 p.m. A woman was walking through the park and heard two loud snapping sounds and saw two men shortly after, thought she saw a gun. They were shooting off plastic pellet guns.

Vandal: Someone reported vandalism on Parker Avenue, and one on Cypress Street.

Car break in: Someone called to report a car break in on Fesseden Street around 7:30 p.m.

Even in Newton?: Someone reported a case of road rage on Woodman Road around 6:15 p.m.

Served: Police served three warrants, including one at the YMCA on Church Street, one on Holland Street and one on Kennsington Street.

Wednesday, May 10

Only takes once: Someone reported they were bitten by a dog on Newtonville Avenue.

Break in: Someone called to report a break in happening at 11:08 a.m. on Collins Road.

Suspicious? There was a report of a suspicious person around 5: 15 p.m. on Farwell Street.

Thursday, May 11

Larceny: Someone called to report a larceny at the Panera Bread on Centre Street.

Graffiti: Someone called to report vandalism to a property on River Street. Another person called to report vandalism to the Maguire Company on Adams Street.

Break in: Someone reported a break in on Thurston Road.

Between May 5 and May 11 there were seven violent crimes reported, including one rape, one car theft and three larcenies. Patch is requesting more information on the rape, which appears to be the first such reported incident of the year, according to Newton Police data.
