Revitalizing the Republican Party by Restoring Principles

Elect Joshua Norman, principled conservative, to serve as Republican State Committee Man for Newton, Brookline and Wellesley

My name is Joshua Gary Norman and I am running to serve as your next Republican State Committee Man in the First Middlesex & Norfolk District (Newton, Brookline & Wellesley (Precincts A, C, D, E & H). All registered Republicans and unenrolled/independent voters may vote in this election, which takes place on Tuesday March 1, 2016, concurrently with the presidential primary election. I would appreciate your vote for Republican State Committee Man and I’m asking for your vote so I may serve the First Middlesex & Norfolk District by working to revitalize the Republican Party in Massachusetts.

Here is what sets me apart from the other three gentlemen running for Republican State Committee Man in the First Middlesex & Norfolk District.

· I am the only authentic, consistent, principled conservative candidate for State Committee Man.

· I have the best record of helping conservative candidates win contested elections and participating in ballot question signature drives for conservative causes

· I have the best ideas to help rebuild and revitalize the Republican Party in Massachusetts and in Newton, Brookline and Wellesley.

I am a full-platform fiscal and social conservative. I’m not ashamed of my party’s platform, I’m standing on every plank of it. I’m Jewish and I support Israel’s right to exist in peace and defend itself against anti-Semitism and Arab Muslim terror. I’m also pro-life, pro-family, pro-immigration enforcement, pro-national sovereignty and I support the right to keep and bear arms. Furthermore, as Vice President and Research Director of the Newton Taxpayers Association, I believe that taxes are too high at all levels of government because government spending is too high and because all levels of government are too big, too bloated, too costly and are out-of-control.

I believe big government needs to be rolled back in order to revitalize our country’s economic potential, and enable people the opportunity to pursue their own vision of happiness without having to worry whether it conflicts with the central planners’ vision of government-imposed happiness. I believe that government’s size, scope and cost needs to be reduced immediately because it’s the people’s money and government spending growth rates should not continue to exceed household income growth rates and squeeze household budgets.

I demonstrate my conservative values in action by my willingness to gather signatures for conservative ballot questions and helping principled grassroots conservative candidates running against content-free Establishment-backed candidates in contested party primaries. I believe the best way to ensure electable candidates is to nominate and support candidates who are willing to stand up for Republican values and principles, rather than running as Democrat-lite.

The Democrats dominate our state and local government. However, it also means that they own all of its problems, including Newton’s $1.3 Billion in accumulated debt and other liabilities (primarily unfunded retirement benefits) as well as Massachusetts’s $108 Billion in accumulated debt and other liabilities. I think now represents a wonderful time for a Republican to run in Massachusetts and in particular Newton, Brookline and Wellesley, or at least if someone is willing to stand for and run on Republican principles.

A local Republican expressed concern that her RTC’s leadership was too chummy with the Democrats. Fortunately, I am the only candidate for First Middlesex & Norfolk GOP State Committee Man who has not donated to a Democrat, endorsed a left-wing Democrat incumbent or worked for a Republican politician like Brad Jones (who is known for undermining Republican representatives and candidates). I co-sponsored the 2014 Newton RCC resolution censoring Bill Weld and Frank Cousins for endorsing left-wing Democrats running against their Republican opponents. You won’t see me liking the social media pages of left-wing Democrats like Newton Mayor Setti Warren, Wellesley State Rep Alice Peisch, House Speaker Bob DeLeo or Massachusetts Democratic Chairman Tommy McGee.

Education is an important issue for the First Middlesex & Norfolk district’s voters. A good way for Republicans to break the Democrat Party’s control over education-oriented voters is to actively oppose the federal takeover of education known as Common Core. Prior to adopting Common Core, Massachusetts had the best in the nation educational standards and performance. Massachusetts adopted Common Core in 2010 and educational performance has sagged downward since then. I am the only candidate for Republican State Committee Man in the First Middlesex & Norfolk district who collected signatures to put a ballot question on the ballot to End Common Core (in) Massachusetts.

Other issues I’m passionate about include the following:

· 40B/high density development: I oppose 40B/high density developments because they privatize profits for politically connected developers and socialize costs to local taxpayers in the form of higher school enrollments. I am the only candidate for State Committee that opposed the Austin Street project in Newtonville.

· Immigration Enforcement: I oppose giving illegal aliens amnesty because we have nearly 16 million unemployed and underemployed Americans. Let’s put America back to work before giving amnesty to illegal aliens.

· Obamatrade/TPP: I oppose the Trans Pacific Partnership and opposed giving Obama Fast Track Trade Authority

· Auditing the Federal Reserve because Americans have a right to know what the Federal Reserve is doing with our nation’s money supply.

· Ending the Invade the World, Invite the World, In-Hock to the World approach to foreign and diplomatic affairs

· Freedom of Speech: I am a strong believer in freedom of speech and believe we need to protect our Internet Freedom from government regulation

On Tuesday, March 1, 2016, I’m asking for your vote to serve as First Middlesex & Norfolk District Republican State Committee Man in order to revitalize the Republican Party in Massachusetts. For the last 60+ years, the Massachusetts Republican Party have tried to make Massachusetts Republicans indistinguishable from the Democrats in the hopes that people will like them and it has resulted in the Republicans being electorally irrelevant, uncompetitive and unsuccessful in Massachusetts. The nationwide resurgence in principled conservatism boosted the electoral prospects of Republicans at all levels nationwide and I say it’s time that Massachusetts Republicans restore principled, limited-government conservatism to our party so we can win elections, break the Democrat Party’s dominance in state and local government and roll back the Democrat Party’s destructive policies.
