NEWTON, MA – The Newton Police Department held its second annual Police Appreciation Day Monday evening at American Legion Post 440.
The event gave Newton's citizens and elected officials the opportunity to recognize the daily service their officers perform in the Garden City. Several local eateries were on hand to cater, and attendees were treated to musical entertainment, which included a rousing bagpipe performance from Boston Pipes and Drums.
Officers Dennis O'Brien, Paul Boyle and Rocco Marini were also recognized for their achievements in 2016 with Outstanding Officer of the Year awards.
