Service Suspensions for MBTA Green Line

Friday's snow storm led to major service interruptions on the MBTA Green Line.

The MBTA Green Line’s D and E branches experienced service suspensions after Friday’s snow storm knocked down trees and wires, the MBTA said.

Shuttle buses replaced Green Line D branch service in both directions between Kenmore and Newton Highlands stations due to a tree branch on the overhead wire at Chestnut Hill, as of 3 p.m. Friday.

Shuttling is available to the following stops for the D line:

  • Reservoir
  • Chestnut Hill
  • Newton Centre
  • Newton Highlands

The E branch was suspended between Brigham Circle and Heath Street due to a fallen tree impeding service at Brigham Circle, as of 3 p.m.. Customers can use Route 39 buses between Brigham Circle and Heath Street.The following stops are affected on the E Line:

    • Brigham Circle
    • Fenwood Road
    • Mission Park
    • Riverway
    • Back of the Hill
    • Heath Street
