Sex Trafficking, Multiple Car Break-ins: Newton Arrest Logs

A man was arrested for trafficking persons for sexual servitude recently in Newton.

Thursday, Oct. 12

Offensive: A woman called to report that while her car was parked on Floral Street someone vandalized it by writing offensive messages on her windows.

Friday, Oct. 13

Drugs, fraud: Francisco Javier Colon, 41 of Lawrence, was arrested on a warrant and was additionally charged with possessing fraudulent RMV documents, providing a false name during booking, Resisting arrest, obstruction of justice and possession of a class B substance with the intent to distribute

Saturday, Oct. 14

Wallet theft: A woman came into the station to report her wallet stolen while she was at Del Friscos (33 Boylston Street). She told police that she was sitting at the bar by the front on the side. She put her purse on the chair next to her when she arrived at about 7 p.m. and did not realize her wallet was taken out of her tote until she went to pay the bill around 8:45 p.m. When she called the credit/bank cards to report the larceny, they informed her that one of her cards was used at CVS and another was used at Walgreens

Bike gone: A Craft Street resident came into the station to report his bicycle was stolen from his back door stoop earlier this week.
Spray paint vandals: Someone reported vandalism on Lucille Place on a garage door, side of a home and spray paint across a car in the driveway.

Sunday, Oct. 15

Vandals: Someone reported a building at the back of Lincoln Street had been "tagged."
Warrant Arrests:

  • Emily Daquin, 22, of Newton was arrested and charged on a default warrant, Boston Municipal Court, for Marked Lanes Violation, OUI Drugs, Possession of Class A drugs, and Possession of Class C drugs.
  • Willis Hengy, 32, of Boston, was charged with the following; 1) straight warrant, Westborough District Court, for Vandalism of Property over $250, Intimidation, and Disturbing the Peace.


Monday, Oct. 16

Car break in: Someone at the The Woodland Golf Course at 1897 Washington St reported at least two cars were broken into. The employee said he reviewed security footage of the day when two clients said their cars were broken into and items were stolen and saw a black SUV pull into the parking lot,
two men get out and check cars around 1:18 p.m. Oct. 14. On the video you can observe the men split and check cars then move the SUV between another black SUV and a gray Acura and enter the vehicles. They also went into another black SUV, but no one reported anything missing from that car.

Lock your cars: Someone called to report a car was broken into while it was parked on Nonantum Place. It wasn't locked. And at least two other people called to report that while her car was parked and unlocked on Russell Road someone broke in and stole items.

Sex trafficking:

  • Jailyne Maldano, 20, of Worcester, was taken into custody for one count of Sexual Conduct for a Fee.
  • James C Florence,22, of Gaylord Street, Boston was placed under for Trafficking Persons for Sexual Servitude.


Bike issue: Someone at the Church Street YMCA reported an issue with a stolen bicycle. Someone told police they thought they found the stolen bike in question locked to a bike rack in front of the YMCA. Also with the bicycle, was someone claiming to be the owner. Police noted something about a summons in the mail. And charged someone with larceny under $250. It's not clear if there were two people charged or one person because the information was redacted. But a 14 year old male from Newton, was involved.

Drunk Driving: Officers responded to a report of a two car crash near the corner of Elliot Street at Margaret Road. They arrested Roman Aristides Cruz, 36, of East Boston and charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Tuesday, Oct. 17

Stolen: A woman came into the police headquarters to report a larceny which occurred at the Church Street YMCA on Sunday Oct. 15 between 2 p.m and and 5 p.m. She said multiple items were taken
from her wallet - which was in an unlocked locker in the women’s locker room.
