Small Get-Together Turns Into 250-Person Party, Man Believed to Be Watching Porn in Cubicle and Other Items: Newton Crime Log

Thursday, Feb. 23

• Person reported damage to a 2015 silver Dodge pickup over the previous weekend. The vehicle had several dents and looked like someone had kicked it. Parked in the driveway.

• Reported shoplifting at the Wegman's on Boylston Street. Suspect was described as a black male wearing a black knit hat, blue long sleeve shirt and khaki pants, approximately 28 years old. He allegedly took two bottles of Kettle One vodka and left the store toward Miltons. Employees at the store say he has shoplifted four times before and placed a Kettle One vodka bottle in a red bag each time before leaving.

A past larceny was reported on Boylston Street. The caller said a black female, approximately 30 years old with a dark winter coat and hood entered the building and went behind her reception desk and removed her handbag from a lower drawer. Police identified the suspect and will summons for larceny in a building and larceny over $250 by credit card.

• A caller reported a man sitting in the far left cubicle of his office on Needham Street watching porn. The male was described as 5-foot-9, with shaggy dark hair, acne, a dark baseball hat and red shorts.

• A "loud party" was reported on Arlo Road. Police arrived and saw approximately 250 people running from the home. Upon entering, police smelled alcohol and noted that the home was in disarray. He talked to the resident, who said he was only supposed to have a few friends over and once news of the party hit social media, people began showing up unannounced. Once people began to damage his family's home – punching walls and ceilings, damaging property inside – he called Newton police.

• A 17-year-old from Woburn was arrested outside of the party and charged with disorderly conduct.

Saturday, Feb. 25

• A 44-year-old Malden woman was arrested and charged with an OUI, as well as a marked lanes violation. Police found her Jeep Wrangler stuck in the mud in the front yard of Kerry Court. The car was running, and officers approached the vehicle. Police knocked on the window several times without the driver responding or looking in their direction. After getting her attention, police informed her that she would be taken to the hospital for evaluation and cited for an OUI.

• Jonathan Esteban Roman, 22, of Boston, was arrested and charged with trying to cash a false check. An employee of Cambridge Savings Bank called police to report that someone was inside trying to cash a fraudulent check. The man fled the bank and headed toward the Newton Center MBTA. He was described as a light-skinned male wearing a red top and blue headphones. Police saw a man fitting that description waiting for an inbound train. He was placed into custody and charged with attempting to commit a crime, forgery of check and uttering a false instrument (check).

Sunday, Feb. 26

• Francis X. Harding, 61 was arrested for a probation warrant.
