Spate of Car Break-ins on Saturday, Man Allegedly Returns to Scuffle With Gun: Newton Crime

The following are excerpts from the Newton police log from Sep. 15 to Sep. 19.

Thursday, September 15

• A past larceny was reported on the 300 block of Winchester Street. The caller said three bicycles were stolen from a two-car garage.

Saturday, September 17

• A 27-year-old Newton man was arrested and further complaints were filed against 22-year-old Lowell woman and 34-year-old Hanover man after a fight involving a weapon was reported on Fredette Road. Two men reportedly got into a fight and one returned to the room with a black 9mm pistol. The Newton man was charged with carrying a firearm while under the influence of liquor, willful impeding or misleading a police investigation and assault and battery by means of a firearm. The Lowell woman and Hanover man were charged with willful impeding or misleading a police investigation.

• A stolen motor vehicle was reported on Grove Street.

• Police responded to a past larceny from a motor vehicle on Pierrpont Road.

• A breaking and entering of a motor vehicle was reported by a caller on Grove Street who said someone had gone through both of her cars.

• A Hancock Street caller reported a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.

• A caller on Central Street said someone entered his two unlocked cars while they were parked in his driveway.

• A breaking and entering of a motor vehicle was reported on Pierrepont Road

• A breaking and entering of a motor vehicle was reported on Deforest Street. The caller said between 11:30 p.m. the night before and 5:30 a.m., someone had gone through his vehicle.

• A caller on Williston Road reported a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The caller said someone had gone through all three of his vehicles between midnight and 8 a.m.

Sunday, September 18

• A woman on Chester Street reported a past vandalism during which her front door was egged.

• Vandalism was reported on Edward Road. The caller said sometime between 11:30 and 4 p.m. someone had damaged his first floor window with what he believed to be a BB gun. A tiny hole through the window pane was believed by officers to have been made by a BB pellet.

Monday, September 19

• An armed robbery was reported at Dunkin' Donuts on Boylston Street. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the cashier, who said he had just been robbed. According to police, he was pacing back and forth nervously, did not want to sit down at any point and was constantly on the phone. Another employee arrived on the scene and told detectives she had viewed video footage. The cashier was determined to be a person of interest but denied any involvement. Wendell Wilson, 52, of Boston, and Justin Locklear, 23, of Brookline, were arrested.

• A woman reported her car broken into at Crehore Drive.

• A man on West Street said he received a food package earlier that morning and saw it at his side door around 8 a.m. Around 4:30 p.m. the package was gone.

• Michael Patrick McKenzie, 32, was arrested and charged with possession of a Class A drug.
