Support for Sierra: Waban Fundraiser to Help Teen After Ski Accident

Sierra suffered a severe spinal cord injury in an accident last month.

NEWTON, MA – A Waban fundraising campaign was launched last month after a teen's serious skiing accident. According to Marian Voros, who runs the GoFundMe page, Sierra suffered spinal cord injuries that required extensive surgery.

Voros describes Sierra, the daughter of her longtime friend, as "an effervescent, joyful teen who loves spending time with her family and goofing around with her friends." Sierra faces a long road to recovery, and the funds raised by the campaign will provide financial support for her family so they can be by her side during that process.

To date, the campaign has raised $8,898 of its $20,000 goal. The campaign has started trending on GoFundMe and Voros writes, "People we have never met are reaching out and connecting to show that their thoughts are with Sierra's family."
