Suspected Shoplifting Trio in Newton May Be Linked to Bedford Incident: Police
Police said Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci purses were stolen from a TJ Maxx on Needham Street over the weekend.

NEWTON, MA – A trio of alleged shoplifters made off with multiple luxury purses from a Newton TJ Maxx on Saturday, according to police records.
The incident was reported by a security guard, who told police a male had just run out of the store and across the street after stealing multiple purses. He was described as a black male with a maroon jacket, pink hat and black pants, the police report stated.
Two females allegedly accompanied the male and were seen fleeing the scene with stolen purses and clothing, as well, police said.

An employee told police the store had received an email from the Bedford TJ Maxx stating that they had just had a shoplifting occur and advising them to look out for three individuals matching the description of the suspects.
She noticed the three suspects beginning to conceal merchandise in reusable TJ Maxx bags, but they fled when she went to confront them. The two females entered a gray Volkswagen SUV and the male ran across the street, she told police.

The items stolen were two Gucci purses and one Yves Saint Laurent purse, as well as multiple articles of clothing that could not be identified.
