Tonight: Newton Forum on Domestic Violence

Join Mayor Warren, law enforcement representatives and advocacy groups for an important conversation about domestic abuse.

NEWTON, MA – In light of Domestic Violence Awareness month, city officials, law enforcement representatives and advocacy groups will host a forum tonight addressing domestic abuse.

On hand to speak will be Mayor Setti Warren, Deputy Director of The Second Step Matthew Swoveland, a domestic violence survivor, Newton Police Lt. Bruce Apotheker and Assistant Professor of Legal Studies at Lasell College Karin Raye, J.D.

Together, the featured speakers will address the warning signs of domestic violence, how to address it and community resources for help.

The Second Step is a Newtonville-based organization partners with survivors and community-based organizations to work toward a future free from abuse.

Tonight's program runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Newton City Hall.
