Tonight: Support Rally for Newton Police

The citizen-organized rally will begin at 5:30 next to the police station.

Newton, MA – A rally organized by some of Newton's citizens to support the city's police force will take place tonight at 5:30 p.m.

Organized by Ginny Gardner and Terry Sauro, the ceremony will begin with the Newton Police Honor Guard, followed by the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance. Sauro will lead the crowd in the Policeman's Prayer and Gardner will open with a speech before introducing additional speakers.

The rally will conclude with the crowd singing "Let There Be Peace on Earth" and a police officer playing the bagpipes.

Join your fellow community members tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the common next to the Newton Police Station in West Newton. Attendees are asked to wear blue.
