UPDATE: Tractor-Trailer Rollover on Pike Nearly Hit Homes

A tractor-trailer rolled over after going off the ramp on the Mass Pike in Newton Saturday.

Massachusetts State Police reported that the left lane was closed around 12:20 p.m. at the off-ramp at Exit 16 in Newton after the tractor went off the road. Police reported no injuries.

The trailer had nearly hit nearby homes after hitting the ramp and “dangling off the side for hours,” reported WHDH-TV.

While MSP reported originally that there was no fuel spill, WHDH-TV said the truck spilled 50 gallons, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
