UPDATED: Apparent Murder-Suicide Involved Former Waltham Cop, Say Reports
Co-workers and neighbors say Kevin O'Connor worked at Fiorella's in Newton, and was a former Waltham officer.

WALTHAM, MA -- Police responded to a well-being check early Friday evening, arriving to an apparent murder-suicide.
Around 5 p.m., police responded to a home on Forest Street, and upon arrival found two residents at the address deceased, said District Attorney Marian Ryan and Waltham Police Chief Keith MacPherson.
It appeared to be a murder-suicide. Police immediately reported that there is an open and active investigation and the incident is âisolatedâ with no threat to public safety.

According to reports by the Boston Globe, property records trace the Forest Street home to Kevin and Jeannine OâConnor. Remon Karian, who owns Fiorellaâs in Newton, said that his employee named Kevin OâConnor, whose wife is Jeannine, did not show up for work as a bartender on Saturday night. The restaurant was unable to reach him, said the Globe. Co-workers told NECN that Kevin worked part-time at Fiorillaâs.
Neighbors and a former Waltham police officer confirmed to WBZ that Kevin was a former police officer with the Waltham Police Department. The couple has three adult children.

According to the Waltham Channel, Kevin was a former Waltham detectivewith a âcheckered past.â
