Washington Street Likely Closed Through Monday Night After Water Main Break

Newton road crews on Monday were working to reopen a section of Washington Street after a big water main break forced its closure.

The break was reported at about 11 a.m. Part of the street buckled and a section from Concord Street to Grove Street was closed.

The Newton Fire Department said the street will likely not be reopened until 8:30 p.m.
