Wegmans Employee Allegedly Overcharges Customers; Heroin Arrest; Theft at Radio Shack: Newton Police

The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Oct. 15

  • A resident of Oakdale Road put his trash barrel out for pickup and later that day, saw that the barrel was missing.
  • Police responded to Wegmans for a report of larceny by an employee. Loss prevention specialists said that Aidarus Mahamud was spotted and alter admitted to taking a total of $320 by overcharging customers. Aidarus Mahamud, 19, 171 Dudley St. 1, Boston, was arrested and charged with larceny over $250 by a single scheme

Oct. 16

  • A Newton North High School student reported his iPod stolen. He said on Tuesday around 3 p.m. he entered the boys locker room for football practice. He had his iPod, 5th generation, silver, grey camouflage case, $250 in value, in his pants pocket. The pants and all of his other items were in a locked locker. When he returned, his iPod was missing. Also missing was the lock.
  • Police responded to Radio Shack for larceny. The store employee met with police. He said that on Oct. 15 between 3-4 p.m., several boxes of earphones and iPhone battery cases were stolen from the wall racks. These suspects, from the black and white video viewed, are a black male and hispanic hale in their 20s wearing two-toned multi colored baseball hats. Four boxes of wireless earphones (Powerbeats) and Mophie Juice Packs were taken
  • Police arrested Adam J. Busuito on a warrant. The charges listed were breaking and entering at nighttime for a felony, larceny over $250. Police went to his last known address on Derby Street and didn’t find him. Police found Busuito in a dark-hooded sweatshirt and flat brimmed cap in the rear of Our Lady’s Church. Police patted him down and found a hypodermic needle. During the property search, police discovered a small corner baggie of beige colored powder believed to be heroin in his wallet. Adam J. Busuito, 24, 31 Purchase St., Milford, was also charged with possession of a Class A drug out of Newton district court.

Oct. 17

  • A resident reports that sometime between 4 p.m. the previous day and 7 a.m. in the morning, someone entered his unlocked Jeep Cherokee while it was parked in the driveway at Charlesbank Road. The vehicle was rummaged through and about $25 in cash and coins were taken.

Oct. 18

  • At 2:13 a.m., police responded to 115 Commonwealth Ave. for a report of breaking and entering into a vehicle. The owner of the vehicle said she was contacted by the Newton Police Department who stated someone had called about her vehicle whose rear window had been broken into. The vehicle is a 2011 Honda CRV. Nothing was missing.
