What's The Most Common Dog Name And Breed in Newton?

NEWTON, MA — If you've been wondering if you're just imagining it or if there sure are a lot of dogs named Lucy in Newton, you're not imagining it. Lucy is the most common dog name in Newton this year. And she's probably a golden retriever. Second most popular? Bella.

If you have a dog, you know the drill, each spring all dogs six months or older must be licensed annually by April 1. It's a way to make sure folks have taken their dogs to get rabies vaccinations and know if there are any dogs who have a history of hurting other dogs or people and it also acts as a dog census of sorts.
