Window Washer Falls 40 Ft At Newton-Wellesley Hospital

The window washer reportedly broke a leg but is expected to survive.

NEWTON, MA— A window washer fell some 40 feet while working on the windows at Newton-Wellesley Hospital around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, a spokesperson at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and Newton fire officials confirmed to Patch.

"Earlier this afternoon a contracted window washer was injured while working outside the Newton-Wellesley Hospital. The worker was transported by ambulance for treatment," said Newton-Wellesly's Rachel Kagno in an email to Patch.

The window washer was transported to another hospital, according to the spokeswoman. And no one else was injured in the incident, she said.

WCVB reported the man broke a leg, but it's not considered a life threatening fall.

According to police scanner radio OSHA was at the hospital as of 4 p.m.

Kagno said the incident is under investigation.
