Woman, Dog Hit By a Car in Newton
A woman was hospitalized Thursday morning after she and her dog were struck crossing the street.

NEWTON, MA – A woman was hospitalized Thursday morning after she and her dog were hit by a car in Newton.
Newton police said the crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Commonwealth Avenue near Woodbine Street. The woman was crossing the street with her dog when they were struck by a Mercedes-Benz SUV.
Police said she was taken to an area hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.

The driver of the SUV stayed on the scene, according to police. The crash is under investigation.
