Wrench-Wielding Thief Jacks BMX Bike Near Shaw's
The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Tue., June 24
- A woman who lives on Dearborn Street said someone broke into her home while she was out of town and rummaged through her kitchen drawers but didn't take anything.
- A man on Temple Street said coins were stolen from his home.
- A woman on Town House Drive reported someone stole two purses out of her vehicle.
- A man said someone stole his BMX bike from a rack near Shaw's. He said whoever stole it must have used a wrench to remove it from the rack. The victim said the bike had a black frame, brown seat, and handlebar grips with a tie dye pattern. The bike also had a sticker that read "State 5 Project," he said.
- Police arrested Lucilene Pavesia, 28, of 869 Beacon St., Boston, on a warrant out of Concord District Court for operating a vehicle after suspension.
