Powerball Jackpot Up to $900 Million; Where to Get Your Ticket in Newton

You didn’t win the the Powerball lottery Wednesday night, but neither did anyone else win the estimated $524 million jackpot.

The winning numbers were: 47, 2, 63, 62, 11 and the Powerball of 17.

That means Saturday’s jackpot will be an estimated $900 million, the largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.

The previous largest was a Mega Millions jackpot of $800 million in 2012.

Last night’s $524 million Powerball drawing was the fourth largest Powerball jackpot of all time.

The one-time estimated payout of Powerball for Wednesday was more than $300 million, before taxes, according to the Powerball website.

Powerball is played by residents in 44 states as well as Washington D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Tickets are $2.

The odds of winning the grand prize are 1 in 292,201,338.
