After more than 40 years of serving customers, Bellestar Jewelry is closing its doors as owner Paul Murphy retires.
Opened in 1983, the jewelry store has built a reputation in the community for its craftsmanship and customer service. The store is hosting a major going-out-of-business sale that is currently underway.
“The news is bittersweet because we’ve built lasting friendships with a lot of customers over the years,” said Murphy.
Big Sale Underway
With Valentine’s Day approaching, the store’s going-out-of-business sale offers customers one last chance to shop the remaining inventory at deep discounts. The sale opens to the public on Thursday, Feb. 5, and features a wide range of fine jewelry in various colors and styles, including colored gemstones, diamonds, and bridal jewelry, as well as custom designs unavailable anywhere else.
“There will be something for everyone,” Murphy said.
Building Customer Loyalty
Murphy started his career as an inventory manager before moving to the sales floor, where he was inspired to open his own store. He founded Bellestar Jewelry in 1983 in Westwood and later relocated to Pembroke.
“We’ve always been very laid back and let customers browse at their own pace,” Murphy said. “We want our customers to feel comfortable looking and asking questions when they’re ready.”
Over the decades, Bellestar has served generations of customers, many of whom travel from across the region to shop at the store or bring their items for repair. Our customers trust us, especially with jewelry they’ve inherited from grandmothers and mothers. “When you wear something from someone who is no longer with us, you honor their memory,” he said.
