• Northampton Planning Board reaffirms 54-unit apartment project approval in Ward 3 (gazettenet.com) — Northampton's Planning Board has largely reaffirmed its approval of a 54‑unit apartment building at Phillips Place and Hawley Street in Ward 3, after a court-ordered review prompted by neighbors' appeal. Board members upheld most zoning waivers but ruled the project's vinyl fencing doesn't meet requirements for substantial natural materials, leaving that element to be revised while the broader project moves forward.
   

• Sports Briefs: Valley Ultimate Gx grabs ninth at Nationals (gazettenet.com) — Northampton ultimate players helped Valley Ultimate Gx finish ninth at the national Youth Club Championships, with Northampton's Alysha Parshall-Matylas and Naomi Durbin leading the scoring. Closer to home, JamrogHVAC captured its ninth straight Northampton summer adult coed softball division A title, while free pickup lacrosse sessions are starting Thursday evenings at Mountain View School in nearby Easthampton.
