11 Displaced In Apartment Building Fire In North Andover

The blaze broke out at the residential complex Thursday afternoon, fire officials said.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Eleven people were displaced following a fire at a North Andover apartment building on Thursday, according to fire officials.

Firefighters responded at 3:26 p.m. to a fire at 45 Royal Crest Drive.

Crews quickly extinguished the blaze, containing it to the apartment where it started on the building's third floor.

Residents from 11 other apartments were displaced due to smoke and water damage.

No injuries were reported.

Fire departments from Lawrence, Andover, and Methuen provided mutual aid.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

"I want to thank our crews and mutual aid partners for their quick response time in knocking down this fire," Chief John Weir said in a statement. "Aggressive work was performed by on-duty crews to ensure the fire was contained and didn't cause further damage."
