90-Year-Old Lunch Monitor Shirley Kern Retires After 25 Years
WHDH captured the beloved Thomson Elementary School employee's retirement Thursday.
NORTH ANDOVER, MA — WHDH 7 News Boston captured the retirement of 90-year-old lunch monitor Shirley Kern from Thomson Elementary School, Thursday. Kern spent a quarter-century with the school, where she began working in her 60s. Students, parents and staff gathered for the ceremony Thursday.
WHDH spoke to Kirn, as well as parents, students and Principal Christopher Raymond for their coverage.
Students gave Kirn gifts and gathered for a big group hug before sending her off.
