NORTH ANDOVER, MA — The North Andover Select Board is scheduled to vote Thursday on a five-year contract to equip the town's police officers with body-worn cameras.

According to contract documents included with the meeting packet, the proposed agreement with Axon Enterprise totals $400,000 over five years, with an estimated contract start date of Sept. 1.

The payment schedule calls for an initial $200,000 payment in August, followed by four annual payments of $50,000 through 2030.

The proposal includes 50 Axon Body 4 cameras, connected hardware bundles, docking stations, unlimited evidence storage, evidence management software, redaction assistant licenses for 50 users, and related warranties.

The contract also includes technology refreshes for the cameras and docking stations during the five-year term.

North Andover police were working toward implementing body-worn cameras after securing grant funding to help offset the cost of the program. Thursday's vote would authorize the town to move forward with the proposed five-year agreement.
