NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Crews rescued a van driver after a three-vehicle accident in North Andover on Friday, according to a joint police and fire statement.
The crash was reported at 8:10 a.m. in the area of 1043 Turnpike St. Two of the vehicles involved in the crash had overturned.
The driver of a van was trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters used rescue struts and removed the windshield to gain access to the driver, who they then removed.
Both of the drivers of the overturned vehicles were taken to local hospitals for treatment of what appeared to be minor injuries, according to the statement.
All three vehicles were towed from the scene of the crash, which has since been cleared.
"I want to commend our fire crews and the North Andover Police Department for their quick response to this incident," Fire Chief John Weir said in a statement. "I also want to thank our partners at Middleton Fire Department and Lawrence General Hospital Paramedic Intercept 2 for their assistance at the scene."
North Andover Police are investigating the crash.
