Officers are focusing on drivers who fail to yield to pedestrians and say the enforcement campaign, meant to protect students and families, will continue for several weeks.
   

• North Andover Teaching Assistants Face New School Year With Expiring Deal (patch.com) — North Andover teaching assistants are starting the new school year under an expiring contract as negotiations between the School Committee and the North Andover Education Association remain unresolved. Union leaders say TAs, who earn between $28,000 and $48,000, will see no cost-of-living increases or new benefits until a successor agreement is reached, while town officials stress they value assistants and are committed to continued bargaining.
   

• New Season, Early Battles: Merrimack Men's Soccer Opens 2026 Campaign 0-1-1 (merrimacknewspaper.com) — Merrimack College men's soccer, based in North Andover, has kicked off its 2026 season with a tough 0-1-1 start after a 4-0 loss to Boston College and a 2-2 draw at Holy Cross. The Warriors now turn their attention to building momentum on the road against Stonehill as they settle into the new campaign.
