NY, PA Men Plead Guilty In 2025 North Andover Armed Jewelry Store Robbery

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — A New York and Pennsylvania man both pleaded guilty on Monday to gun and armed robbery charges in the 2025 robbery of a North Andover jewelry store at gunpoint that led to a police chase down Routes 125 and 495.

The men were charged with robbing Milos Joyeria in North Andover on July 3, 2025, when they walked into the store wearing masks and threatened employees and customers at gunpoint, the Essex County District Attorney's Office said.

They were then accused of fleeing the store, switching getaway vehicles, and leading police on a chase down Route 125 in North Andover onto Route 495 in Lawrence, where they were eventually found and charged.

Yire Abreu, 25, of Bronx, New York, and Wilfred Mordan, 23, of Hazelton, Pennsylvania each pleaded guilty to armed and masked robbery, five counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony, carrying a firearm without a license, possessing a large-capacity feeding device, and possessing a loaded firearm.

Abreu was sentenced to 10 to 12 years in prison and three years' probation. Mordan was charged to seven years in prison and three years' probation.

Both defendants' probation terms include orders to stay away from and have no contact with victims in the case as well as the jewelry store, and to seek and maintain employment.

Other defendants alleged to have been involved in the incident are also facing charges, the Essex County DA's Office said.
